  • Gaze at dawn’s first light on top of Cadiallac mountain, the forest tinged with autumn color, or seals and porpoise near your kayak.

  • Listen to the waves crash against the pink-granite cliffs, the call of loons and gulls, the clanging sea buoys.

  • Taste succulent lobster, ripe Maine blueberries, and warm popovers on the lawn of the Jordon Pond House.

  • Feel the ocean breeze as you cruise on a windjammer, the ocean floor as your tread across at low tide to visit a deserted island, and the lap of cool water on your toes.

Our stay is at the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge, complete with sweeping views of Frenchman Bay, and a private balcony.

This trip is limited to 10 participants plus 2 guides.


Registration Cost

Included in booking:

  • 2 Guides throughout the Getaway.

  • 6 nights of “Double Accomodation” at the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge, complete with gorgeous views of Frenchman Bay and a private balcony.

  • Sunset sail on the Margaret Todd windjammer on Frenchman’s Bay.

  • Transportation throughout the week, and Bangor Airport, within designated time frames.

  • Park entrance fees and permits.

  • Single room accomodation fee ($1,235.00 at first come basis)

Pay a $500 deposit now to secure your registration. An invoice for $2,500.00 will be sent to you in June.

A $500 deposit will not be refunded if you cancel within 60 days of the trip, unless there's a waiting list, and someone to take your place.

Trailbound has secured your accommodation at the Atlantic Eyrie in Bar Harbor, ME.

Perched on Mount Desert Island, Bar Harbor, Maine, is a picturesque coastal town where rugged Atlantic coastline meets quaint New England charm. Known for its blue-hulled lobster boats, quaint local shops and seafood restaurants, Bar Harbor blends outdoor adventure with small-town hospitality.

Your reservation includes a room for double occupancy with a private balcony. Enjoy your great views of Frenchman Bay and the Porcupine Islands. Lodging includes complimentary breaakfast, heated outdoor pool, 2 queen beds, mini-fidge, and normal hotel accomodations.

Should you prefer a single room, please let us know, and we will invoice you for an additonal fee of $1,235.00 for a solo room.

Fly into Bangor Airport, ME, and one of our guides will pick you from the airport and take you to your hotel. (if arriving at a reasonable hour in the day)

All transportation will be included for all activities for the entire duration of hte trip. There may be some use of the hotel and park’s transportation system as it may be more efficient for our destinations.

DAY 1: Sunday, Sept. 13


Fly into Bangor Interanational Airport, where we will pick you up and take  you to the Atlantic Eyrie Lodge, one hour away.

In the evening, relax and enjoy getting to know our group of adventurers as we dine together over fresh Maine lobster or other fine food.

DAY 2: Monday, Sept. 14


Coastal Exploration!

Sip coffee on your private balcony and watch the sun rise slowly over the ocean. Below, a complimentary breakfast spread awaits, ready to help you jump-start your day.

What a fun day we will have! Visit Acadia’s only sand beach, nestled in a lovely cove. Then score unbeatable views while hiking - and lunching - on Great Head Peninsula, which juts into the sparkling blue Atlantic. Next walk the Ocean Path to explore rugged coastline blowholes, craggy cliffs, crashing waves, and Acadia’s pink-granite rocks.

End this great day with an unforgettable sunset sail aboard the iconic Margaret Todd Windjammer.

DAY 3: Tuesday, Sept. 15


Tranquil Jordon Pond & Bubble Mountain!

Hike 3.3 miles on boardwalks encircling tranquil Jodon Pond and listen for loon calls. You won’t want to miss the 1/2 mile optional side trip up “South Bubble” mountain. Its summit treats you to breathtaking vistas, “Oh WOW” selfies, and a playful shove against perfectly balanced Bubble Rock.

The afternoon is relished with fresh popovers and a scrumptious lunch on the lawn of famous Jordon Pond House, with views of the mountain you just climbed. After lunch, savor the fragrance and charm of Thuya Gardens, perched above a postcard-worthy harbor.

Our evening is the town of Bar Harbor, with time to check out the quaint shops after dinner.

DAY 4: Wed., Sept. 16


Cadillac Mountain!

Want to earn bragging rights? Hike 2.2 miles, and 1,100 feet to the summit of Cadillac Mountain, the North Atlantic seaboard’s tallest mountain. Delight in your accomplishment and the stunning ocean vistas you’ll see along the way.

Enjoy free time this afternoon with some great options! We will help arrange for you:

  • Rent a bike and pedal scenic carriage paths - or enjoy them from a horse-drawn carriage.

  • Stroll Bar Harbor’s Shore Path to admire grand ocean-front homes.

  • Enjoy a massage.

  • Swim in the hotel’s heated outdoor pool.

  • Relax on your own balcony.

This evening, the guides will prepare a relaxed dinner at the hotel to share stories of our afternoon.

DAY 5: Thur., Sept. 17


Dawn’s First Light!

Witness one of the most memorable sunrises of your life! We’ll drive to the summit of Cadillac Mountain to watch the sun’s stunning light show as it peeks over the ocean. This mountain sees dawn’s first light in the USA .

After greeting the dawn, enjoy a delicious early morning breakfast at a favorite Bar Harbor restaurant.

The afternoon is spent on the island’s “quiet” west side. Embrace sweeping views on this 2-miles hike atop Beech Cliff and Beech Mountain. Then on to the quiet Ship Harbor, inviting you to look for blue mussels shells, stroll the shoreline, and bask on the sun-warmed rocks as the ocean waves lap the shore.

DAY 6: Friday, Sept. 18


Ocean Floor Trek & Sea Kayaking!

Have you ever walked across the ocean floor or explored a deserted island? 2 more new adventures as you trek across the ocean bed at low tide to check out unihabited Bar Island and greet views of Bar Harbor.

On our last day in Acadia, you have free time to yourself, or we hope you’ll join the guided kayak trip (suitable for beginners).

DAY 7: Saturday, Sept. 19


Cherish a last sunrise over Frenchman Bay. Then let us shuttle you to the Bangor airport. Return home with amazing stories, fresh confidence, warm friendships, and a renewed love for the great outdoors.

Cancellations & Refunds

You may cancel your Getaway to the Acadia National Park Adventure for a full refund if made 60 days in advance.

If you cancel less than 60 days, a refund will be made if your spot can be filled from a wait list.
