Terrain
Mostly a level trail that has a few hills. Trails are grass and and dirt paths.
Enjoy rare native plants, gentle rolling hills, and the rippling waters of Dixie Creek, alongside sculpted glacial kames, a fen, and dry hill prairie. Delight in cheerful birdsong and the presence of majestic trees—this preserve boasts incredible old burr oaks with rugged bark and long, gnarly branches. A true seasonal treat, especially in spring, when the rich, open ecological space comes alive. Our local Dixie Briggs expert, Carol W, will be teaching us about the native wildflowers we will see.

Nature is brimming with displays that evoke confidence: An enormous tree stretching straight and tall. A carefully constructed bird’s nest or spider’s web. Consider on our walk what brings you confidence and pride in your own life.
Together, we will find examples of nature’s pride.
