What to expect:
Deer Grove East is one of the biggest success stories of wetland restoration in Chicagoland. With over 600 acres, east of Quentin road, it became the focus of wetland restoration and native plant restoration beginning in 2009. Now, there are over 500 different native plant species that have attracted a wide arry of wildlife. A hike through Deer Grove east gives you a spectacular varied landscape. We will wander through prairie, oak savanna, woodland and wetlands. Our favorite part is enjoying the abundance of fall wildflowers along the path.
