Trailbound hits the sidewalks in Oak Park to discover one of Frank Lloyd Wright’s enduring masterpieces—and learn all about the Prairie school of architecture—while visiting his Home and Studio. (1889-1909) Known as the birthplace for Wright’s vision of American architecture, the landmark is recognizable for its flowing rooms and rich, wooden textures. After our guided tour of the interorior of Wright’s home, we will admire some other Frank Lloyd Wright homes on our way to lunch in downtown Oak Park. The historic district surrounding the Home and Studio has the greatest number of Wright-designed residences worldwide. After lunch, we will continue seeing more Wright homes, as we make our way back to our cars.
