What to expect:
A new hike for Trailbound, we are welcomed to walk the private property of University of St. Mary of the Lake. This campus is home to the Mundelien Seminary. St. Mary’s Lake is a 105 acre lake, located within a 1,000 acre campus. This campus was established in 1844, and reflects not only the beauty of the preserved trees and lake, but the architecture and grand belvedere pier are very inspiring. Our walk is on a paved path that circles the entire lake, while walking under the mature oaks, maples, spruce, hickory and cottonwood.
Lastly, on Wed and Thursday, we are invited to a Trailbound hiker’s home in Mundelein for lunch, just a short mile away, also on a beautiful lake.
